Surrey Downs CCG are part of a Surrey wide review of services and there is a real threat to the future of the top performing Hyper stroke unit at Epsom General Hospital. The loss of this unit would mean a 45 minute trip for patients to East Surrey Hospital, who would not be guaranteed a return to Epsom Hospital for recuperation.
We would ask Surrey Downs CCG to ensure that the present review results in Epsom Hospital retaining their stroke unit and specialised staff so that patients returning from Hyper stroke units are properly cared for and re habilitated.
Just to let you know about a temporary road closure, which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of (D2128) Downside, Epsom, between its junction with Worple Road and its junction with St Martins Avenue.
This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable Southern Gas Networks to carry out a new gas connection. These works are anticipated to be carried out on the 12th October 2015 over five days between the hours of 08.00hrs and 18.00hrs within the one month duration of this Order, which commences on the 12th October 2015.
However the closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and access will be maintained for pedestrians at all times. Access for emergency vehicles and residents will be maintained via the signed diversion route. Where it is not possible to maintain access for residents, under Section 3 of The Act the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any period of 24 hours.
Traffic will be diverted via Downside, Downs Road, Church Street and Worple Road. Take care when driving!
